Epilogue

Opening

(Kyra and Edward stand before Elias' gravesite. A second grave has been placed beside his.)
kyra
......
edward
......
You wanna say something, lassie?
kyra
I wouldn't know what to say.
There are things I might want to say TO him, but...
I can't do that anymore, can I?
edward
Who knows. Maybe he's listening.
kyra
That's a nice thought.
But I'm pretty sure he already knew I loved him.
I can't... really come up with anything else right now.
edward
......
Say... About Apate...
I'm a little surprised you decided to bury her here.
kyra
It's as good a place as any, right?
It's not like she ever talked about important places to her or anything.
Besides, she saved my life up there. I had to repay her somehow for that.
edward
...While we were on our way to the tower, she came to me.
Told me everything. About Elias, and how she could've...
I think she was hopin' I'd give her the punishment you refused.
kyra
...And what did you say?
edward
I said that was your call, not mine.
You were his only family. I'm just... That one guy who showed up.
kyra
C'mon. Don't do that.
You're basically the uncle we never had.
He considered you family as much as me.
I do too, for that matter.
edward
(smiles) Bah... It's not like it was a big sacrifice on my part or anything.
I love you two too, y'know.
kyra
(smiles) Heh, I know...
(serious) ...Well... I think we better be on our way.
edward
Aye...
kyra
Goodbye, big guy. Sweet dreams...
And... Apate... I hope you've found peace.

Amnisos

Pericles, Hestia, & Agari

pericles
Farewell, my friends. I hope you have a safe journey home.
kyra
Are you certain you don't want us to stay, Pericles?
Things are going to be pretty hectic around here...
You sure you can handle the aftermath without us?
pericles
Thank you for the offer, but you have done more than enough.
You deserve to return home and enjoy some tranquility.
...Although, perhaps you are worried I will not be up to the challenge...
Or that I will take advantage of the power vacuum and attempt to--
kyra
Oh, c'mon. Really, Pericles? You know that's not it.
You're a good man, and you know how things work in the capital.
edward
(smiles) Yeah. There's no one we'd trust more with this vital task.

If Agari is alive

pericles
(smiles) ...Having your trust means more to me than you know, friends.
agari
(smiles) And hey, I'm here too!
Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on him.
I won't let him overwork himself or anything like that.
edward
Heh... Keep that dad o' yours outta trouble, ya hear?
agari
Aye aye, Cap'n!
edward
(frowns) ...No, seriously, why does everyone just assume I was ever a sailor?
kyra
C'mon, Redbeard, let's get going...
(Kyra and Edward leave.)

If Hestia confessed to Kyra

hestia
Well... Guess this is goodbye.
You know, if you say something now, I shouldn't be hard to convince--
pericles
To stay? Surely you jest!
Hestia, I am filled with joy for your good fortune!
agari
Yeah, don't you worry about us for a second!
You just go and be happy with her, all right?
hestia
(smiles) Aww, shucks... I was worried you'd say something like that...
agari
Just make sure you invite us to the wedding, okay?
(Hestia balks.)
hestia
Whoa, whoa! Who said anything about a wedding?!
pericles
Hahaha...
Till next we meet, my friend. May luck be with you always.
hestia
And with you too, Peri.
Next time we see each other, I wanna see a big, big smile on that face.
agari
We'll work on that... Right, Dad?

If Hestia does not have A-rank support with Kyra

pericles
Hestia, are you not going to say goodbye?
hestia
Meh... I'm sure we'll see them again soon enough.
I'm terrible with these things. You know that.
agari
Aww, Hestia...
It's okay. Maybe right now just wasn't the best time.
But I know she likes you too, so don't lose hope!
hestia
(smiles) Heh... Thanks, Agari. Can always count on you to cheer me up.
agari
Now I just have to work on cheering Dad up... Right, Dad?
pericles
Yes...
But we should also look into finding you a partner, Agari.
Is there anyone who's caught your eye? I could introduce you to--
(Agari blushes.)
agari
Dad!!
hestia
Pffhahaha... Oh, you two...

If Agari is dead

kyra
Look, I just... I hate to bring this up now, but I'm really worried.
Will you be all right? Considering... You know...
pericles
...I will not lie to you and tell you I will be perfectly fine.
But I have a duty to this country, to you, and to her besides.
I will not give up just yet. Of that, you can be certain.
edward
If you need anything, anything at all, just write and we'll be right here.
pericles
I will keep that in mind. Thank you, my friends.
Now go! Or you won't reach the next inn before it gets dark...
(Kyra and Edward leave.)

If Hestia confessed to Kyra

hestia
Well... Guess this is goodbye.
Gosh, I feel like the biggest, most selfish pile of trash in the world.
pericles
Hestia, if you stay for my sake, I will only feel worse.
Knowing that you found someone truly special, and I prevented you from going to live your life with her...
I could never forgive myself. Do you understand that?
hestia
Aww, dammit... I was worried you'd say something like that...
pericles
You know that is also what Agari would have wanted.
hestia
...Yeah...
All right. But make sure to write often, okay?
I want to know how you're hanging on at all times.
pericles
Go, my friend. Worry no further on my account.
Go, and be happy...
hestia
...Peri...

If Hestia does not have A-rank support with Kyra

pericles
Hestia, are you not going to say goodbye?
hestia
Meh... I'm sure we'll see them again soon enough.
I'm terrible with these things. You know that.
pericles
Hmm... I am fairly certain she is quite fond of you as well.
But this has been a difficult time for her...
I am certain, in due time... Do not lose heart, my friend.
hestia
It's okay. Right now I have other things in mind, anyway.
We have a lot of work ahead of us...
And what kind of friend would I be if I wasn't here for you?
pericles
I was blessed the day I met you, Hestia.
Having you by my side... It does ease my sorrow.
hestia
Could say the same to you. I... I miss her too, you know.
pericles
Of course...
Let us cling on to each other in this harrowing time, my friend.
hestia
...Peri...

Hecate & Kairos

If Hecate & Kairos have A-rank support

kairos
Hey... Sorry to break the news like this, but uh...
We're not going to accompany you back to Percote.
kyra
Had a feeling you wouldn't...
Someone has to deal with the future of the church, huh?
kairos
You make it sound like I'm going to be the next hierophant.
Still not sure how much I'll really be able to do.
I mean, a country bumpkin priest like me...
These capital folks are likely to just laugh me out of the room.
hecate
If they do, they'll sorely regret it.
Nobody laughs at my hunk but me.
kairos
(smiles) ...Heh. Oh, this is going to be interesting.
hecate
Anyway, first and foremost, we're going to try to help the little folks.
Don't let all the big buildings and pretty decorations fool you, Kyra.
There's a lot of them hiding in those streets. I should know...
kairos
(serious) We shall do all that we can to make this a better place.
kyra
(smiles) They're in good hands with you two.
But don't forget, if and when you get tired of the stuffy capital air...
You're always welcome in Percote. Both of you.
hecate
(serious) Thanks, Kyra. For everything.
I'm... truly glad I met you. I...
(Hecate chokes up.)
hecate
(eyes swelling) O-Oh, for goodness' sake... Again with the waterworks?
I'm growing way too soft...
kairos
There, there, my love... Don't worry...
We'll go pay them a visit soon enough...
hecate
O-Okay... What are you waiting for? Go already, dammit!
kyra
Heh... See you around, guys.

If Kairos is alive but Hecate & Kairos do not have A-rank support

kairos
Hey... Sorry to break the news like this, but uh...
I'm not going to accompany you back to Percote.
kyra
Had a feeling you wouldn't...
Someone has to deal with the future of the church, huh?
kairos
You make it sound like I'm going to be the next hierophant.
Still not sure how much I'll really be able to do.
I mean, a country bumpkin priest like me...
These capital folks are likely to just laugh me out of the room.
kyra
Their loss.
kairos
(smiles) Heh... If you say so, my friend.
Don't worry. I'll see about paying you a visit soon.
Can't go neglecting my old parish, now can I?
kyra
(smiles) We'll welcome you with open arms.
Maybe this time I'll try to actually attend your mass.
kairos
Only if you mean it, Kyra.
If not, we can always just have a few at the alehouse!
kyra
Oh, goodness...

If Hecate is alive but Hecate & Kairos do not have A-rank support

hecate
Well... This is as far as I go, Kyra.
kyra
You're staying too?
hecate
Don't let all the big buildings and pretty decorations fool you, Kyra.
There's a lot of little folks hiding in those streets. I should know...
They'll be the ones who will suffer the most from all this chaos.
I want to see if I can do something to help them out.
kyra
(smiles) They're in good hands with you.
But don't forget, if and when you get tired of the stuffy capital air...
You're always welcome in Percote.
hecate
Thanks, Kyra. For everything.
I'm... truly glad I met you. I...
(Hecate chokes up.)
hecate
(eyes swelling) O-Oh, for goodness' sake... Again with the waterworks?
I'm growing way too soft...
O-Okay... What are you waiting for? Go already, dammit!
kyra
Heh... See you around.

Ofelia & Polonius

polonius
Eeheeheeheehee!
A resounding success, brought on by my immeasurable power!
Now... Shall we reap the rewards that we have sown, dearest sister?
ofelia
What rewards? Is freedom not reward enough, brother mine?
polonius
Heehee... You fail to see the bigger picture.
We are the heroes that assisted the great Commander Kyra!
Who wouldn't pay top coin to see a play put on by us?!
The warrior company that saved the world from evil!
And now we find ourselves in the capital of Tartaros...
This is the opportunity of a lifetime! Eeheeheeheehee!
ofelia
(smiles) Oh, Polonius... You are simply incorrigible.
That being said... Yes, I see your point, and I agree.
Things are going to look up for us henceforth.
We will drown in work! We'll be known around the world!
polonius
Eeheeheeheeheehee!
ofelia
Haahaahaahaahaahaa!

Jason

jason
(smiling) Well, that's my contract fulfilled, I suppose.
Can't imagine you'd want to hire me on retainer, right?
kyra
With your prices, Jason? No, not really.
I'll just seek you out if another war starts.
jason
I'll not take any jobs from anyone who might end up opposing you.
kyra
You ended up liking me that much?
jason
Part that, part I wouldn't want to make an enemy of you.
But... Eh. It's okay. I don't think we'll have trouble for a while.
I should be upset about that. Means less work for me...
But I'll make do. I always have.
You make do too, okay, Commander? Best of luck.
kyra
Thanks, Jason.

Coronis

coronis
Thank you for letting me have a place among yours, Commander.
Now that I have a new lease on life, I shall return to Amnisos.
kyra
Will you start teaching again, Coronis?
coronis
If the school is still standing, yes, it would be my pleasure.
Say, Commander... One last riddle? This one is very easy.
kyra
(smiles) Heh... Go ahead.
coronis
(smiles) A round delight, sometimes square, loved by most.
Among the right crowd, it can be used as currency.
Do not overindulge, however, lest you explode...
kyra
(thinks) ......
(smiles) Mm... Sweets.
coronis
Cake, to be precise.
There was the most wonderful patisserie very near the school.
Here's hoping it's still open. I could use some pie in my system.
kyra
Heh... Enjoy yourself, Coronis. You've earned it.
coronis
Come by some time. I'll treat you.
You have earned it, as well.

Lorenzo

kyra
...Oh, Sir Lorenzo! There you are!
I couldn't see you anywhere. I was afraid you'd...
lorenzo
Taken my leave?
Truthfully... I'm not quite certain what to do now.
I have nothing left, Commander...
And regardless of my actions at the end, I was complicit in their crimes.
I no longer have a place in this world...
(Pericles approaches.)
pericles
Kyra, if I may...
kyra
All yours, Pericles.
(Kyra leaves.)
pericles
Your life up until now has been defined by your loyalty to Sandraudiga.
To the broken system that hoisted her up and granted her undeserved power.
Now that is all gone... We have wiped the slate clean. But you remain.
You say there is no place in the world for you. I say... You are free.
Free to make a new place for yourself. Free to form new bonds.
Free to live a good life, unburdened by the shackles of your past!
lorenzo
After everything I have done... Can I truly be forgiven?
pericles
Did Kyra not forgive you already? Did Elias not do the same?
You are the only one who has yet to forgive yourself.
(closes eyes) ...I understand completely. I, too... have yet to do that, myself.
(opens eyes) That is why I would have you assist me in the days to come.
You and I, our plights are similar. We can help each other.
Until the day we can forgive ourselves, in our heart of hearts...
lorenzo
......
(smiles) You have my oath, Sir Pericles. Come what may...
You shall have my aid.

Hydran Gate

Begoña, Fango, & López

If all three are alive

Begoña
Oi, Kyra!
The boys'n I just wanted to say bye.
kyra
You're parting ways with us here?
Begoña
...We figure we wouldn't be welcome sights in your hometown.
Wouldn't want to place you in an awkward spot.
kyra
Yeah, you're probably right...
Still can't believe I have to say this, but thanks for everything, Begoña.
Begoña
(smiles) Nah. I'm the one who oughta say that.
Thanks to you, we can turn over a new leaf now.
You ain't ever gonna hear of us committin' crimes ever again!
May thunder strike me down right now if I lie!
kyra
......
Begoña
(serious) ......
(Begoña jumps giddily.)
Begoña
(smiles) Hah! See?! What'd I say?
kyra
(smiles) Heh... Good luck, Begoña. I hope to see you again someday.
Begoña
Aye, me too.
(Begoña approaches Fango and López
Begoña
'Aight! First order of business, boys...
Figure out what the heck three dunderheads like us are gonna do!
López
We're not lacking for talent, that's for sure.
With people as able as us? The sky's the limit.
fango
Er...

(Fango lights up.)

(smiles) Oh, oh! Hope it's not a dumb idea, but...
What about... a carpentry shop!

López
Naw, you'd break everything we tried to make.
Better work with somethin' that doesn't break, like...
(López lights up.)
López
(smiles) Aha! Books! We can set up a library!
Begoña
Idiot, none of us know how to read!
fango
(frowns) And I'm pretty sure your stench would drive the customers away...
López
(scowls) Fango, I swear to the Mother...!
Begoña
Hmmm... Well, y'know what?
(smiles) Let's do THAT first, and THEN figure this out!
fango
Am I hearing group hug?
López
I'm hearing group hug!
(They all have a group hug.)

If Fango or López are dead

Begoña
Oi, Kyra!
I just wanted to say bye.
kyra
You're parting ways with us here?
Begoña
...I figure I wouldn't be a welcome sight in your hometown.
Wouldn't want to place you in an awkward spot.
kyra
Yeah, you're probably right...
Still can't believe I have to say this, but thanks for everything, Begoña.
Begoña
(smiles) Nah. I'm the one who oughta say that.
Thanks to you, I can turn over a new leaf now.
You ain't ever gonna hear of me committin' crimes ever again!
May thunder strike me down right now if I lie!
kyra
......
Begoña
(serious) ......
(Begoña jumps giddily.)
Begoña
(smiles) Hah! See?! What'd I say?
kyra
(smiles) Heh... Good luck, Begoña. I hope to see you again someday.
Begoña
Aye, me too.

Xinyi, Jingyi, & Fazang

xinyi
(smiling) (The road home is eastward. Shall we go?)
jingyi
(I don't think there's anything else we can do here.)
fazang
(I am anxious to see the state of affairs back in Zhu.)
(I am worried that, with Tartaros in such a precarious state...)
xinyi
(frowns) (They'll try something? Yes, that's been on my mind as well...)
jingyi
(I can tell you something, and I'm not ashamed to say it.)
(If they order me to bear arms against our comrades...)
(I will desert right then and there, honor be damned!)
xinyi
(smiles) (Oh, Jingyi. Not even back home yet and already talking about treason.)
(serious) (No, but I agree. They've fought too hard. They've earned some respite.)
fazang
(All the more reason for us to hurry on back home.)
(Our standing may not be the best it has ever been...)
(But perhaps we could do something to prevent that which we fear.)
jingyi
(smiles) (I'll be counting on Xinyi's diplomatic acumen for that!)
xinyi
(So good to have your endorsement, Jingyi.)

Ziying

(The child jumps when she sees Ziying.)
child
(smiles) Ziying! You're back! You're back...!
(She tackles Ziying with a big hug, startling him.)
ziying
...!
child
I'm so happy you're back... You're going to stay this time?
ziying
......
child
Yay! You are!
I'm so happy! I'm gonna go tell Nana!
(The child skips off giddily.)
ziying
......

Roadside Inn

Nikolaos & Vasiliki

nikolaos
(smiling) Hello there! One of Kyra's mercenaries, aren't you?
vasiliki
Uh, yeah... Who are you, though?
nikolaos
The name's Nikolaos.
Used to be an average, rank-and-file spearman...
But no longer! I'm in the big leagues now.
I've been with Kyra since nearly the start, y'know.
Big, big part of the operation, I was.
vasiliki
Umm... Whatever you say, man.
nikolaos
So! Now that I'm a big deal, I've decided I'm gonna take the next step!
I'm gonna open up a mercenary guild of my own!
One comprised of veterans from the rebel Kyra's own unit!
What do you say? Sounds like easy money, doesn't it?
vasiliki
Well... I guess it's as good a plan for the future as any.
(smiles) Sure! I'll give it a shot. Count me in!
nikolaos
A wise decision! You'll get so many work offers, you won't know where to start!
vasiliki
How exciting! I can't wait to get started!
(frowns) Oh, but first I should go visit my parents...
They're probably worried sick about me.
And I could use a little break after all this...
(smiles) But after that, I'll be happy to work with you!
After all, there's no way you'll be worse than the last guy!
nikolaos
(frowns) The last guy? What last guy?
vasiliki
The last guy whose guild I joined.
He lost all his money and became a brigand.
Pretty sure we killed him ourselves, even...
nikolaos
...Oh...

Nikolaos & Scymerius

nikolaos
(smiling) Hmm... Ah, you! Mercenary working for Kyra, yeah?
scymerius
Who asks?
nikolaos
I'm Nikolaos.
Used to be an average, rank-and-file spearman...
But no longer! I'm in the big leagues now.
I've been with Kyra since nearly the start, y'know.
Big, big part of the operation, I was.
scymerius
More flowery speech than I'd have expected from the look of you.
Why don't you skip to the part where you ask something of me?
nikolaos
Straight to the point, eh? Fine, let's do that.
Now that I'm a big deal, I've decided I'm gonna take the next step!
I'm gonna open up a mercenary guild of my own!
One comprised of veterans from the rebel Kyra's own unit!
What do you say? Sounds like easy money, doesn't it?
scymerius
No.
(Nikolaos balks.)
nikolaos
(frowns) N-No? Just like that...?
scymerius
The last guy whose shoddy guild I joined was totally inept.
However, he did have connections. That's what you need the most.
You have enthusiasm, some skill and no connections.
So, my answer's no. I'm not staining my reputation with the likes of you.
nikolaos
...Whoa, what a jerk!
Well, you know what? I don't want you either!
Who needs you? I'm a way better lancer than you!
scymerius
In your dreams, pal.
nikolaos
Urrgh...!
scymerius
If you're done wasting my time, I'd like to get moving.
This job's over, and the next one won't find itself.
Good luck with your thing. Hope you manage to last one month.
(Scymerius leaves.)
nikolaos
......
Asshole.

Nikolaos & Fructuoso

nikolaos
(smiling) Who else... Ah, you there! One of Kyra's mercenaries, right?
fructuoso
I guess, yes... You too?
nikolaos
You got it! Name's Nikolaos.
Used to be an average, rank-and-file spearman...
But no longer! I'm in the big leagues now.
I've been with Kyra since nearly the start, y'know.
Big, big part of the operation, I was.
fructuoso
(smiles) Wow, really? That's awesome.
I hope one day I'll be that important...
nikolaos
And I'd be delighted to give you that opportunity!
Now that I'm a big deal, I've decided I'm gonna take the next step!
I'm gonna open up a mercenary guild of my own!
One comprised of veterans from the rebel Kyra's own unit!
What do you say? Sounds like easy money, doesn't it?
fructuoso
I'm in! How many more veterans you got?
nikolaos
(frowns) W-Well, there's you, and me, and uh...
So that's two for sure. Maaaaaybe three? Maybe.
fructuoso
(frowns) Huh... Well, I mean, the last guild I was a part of had three members.
Then again, that ended pretty poorly, so...
nikolaos
(smiles) Yeah, yeah, that's not gonna happen to me.
I've got a great untapped talent for business.
It's latent. Latent, I tell you!
fructuoso
(smiles) I-I'm just happy for anything that isn't being a brigand again.
Just make sure you're thorough with your background checks, okay?
I don't want to end up working for... Well, brigands.
nikolaos
Sure, sure. Now, who else can I rope up...?
(Nikolaos leaves.)
fructuoso
...Somehow I'm not filled with confidence by this...

Alonso & Teresa

teresa
All right, Lord Alonso. Let's get you home.
alonso
Aye... My joints doth ache.
Welcome, this brief moment of rest shall be.
teresa
...Brief? Excuse me?
alonso
What did you expect, my faithful shieldbearer?
Evil reposes not! Should we lie on soft pillows long,
the armies of darkness would overtake the world anew!
teresa
......
How about I just quit instead?
(Alonso balks.)
alonso
D-Darest thou abandon me, thy sworn liege?!
I... Very well. So be it! I grant thee leave!
I only beg thou acompany me back home for the nonce.
Prithee, see me to my lands, where shalt I suffer solitude.
teresa
(smiles) ...It's okay. I was just joking!
alonso
(smiles) Verily?!
teresa
Sure! I mean, you're insane, and you're always getting me into trouble!
Who wouldn't want a boss like you? Working under you is like a dream!
I wouldn't give it up in a million years! I don't appreciate my life enough!
alonso
(serious) ...Contradictions galore amid thy confused speech, I heareth.
Hast thou been cursed anew by the foul sorcerer?!
(Alonso stands to attention.)
alonso
No rest, then! A duty to rescue you from their clutches, I have!
Come, dearest shieldbearer! Soon thy rear shalt be safe!
(Alonso charges off.)
teresa
(frowns) ...Actually? That was my own fault.
I should've known better than to expect him to understand sarcasm.
(closes eyes) Sigh... Oh, but if I leave him he's just going to get himself hurt...
(opens eyes) Nothing for it. Here we go again... Hey, Lord Alonso! Wait up!

Glaucus

glaucus
(smiles) Well, Commander... It's been a joy to work with you.
As far as gambles go, I'd say joining you was my most successful one.
kyra
What are you going to do now, Glaucus?
glaucus
(serious) Ah, well... Probably stick around Glamorgan for a while.
I still can't really go back to Tartaros.
It's okay. Pops does business here. I'll have plenty to do.
kyra
Hmm. Wait a moment, Glaucus.
Here... Take this.
(Glaucus starts.)
glaucus
W-Whoa! What are you doing, Commander?
There's a bunch of money in this bag...
kyra
Leftovers from the war chest.
It's not that much, but I hope it'll be enough to pay off your debts.
glaucus
It should do... Just about. I can easily get the rest myself.
But... You sure you didn't reach into your own pocket for this?
kyra
......
glaucus
...Do I even bother to say I can't accept this?
kyra
You shouldn't. I'm not taking no for an answer.
Just promise you're going to be responsible going forward.
...Don't leave your dad alone again by being an idiot at the gambling tables.
glaucus
......
(smiles) Thank you, Commander. From the bottom of my heart.
Here's hoping I'll see you again one day.
I owe you a drink or ten.
kyra
Be well, Glaucus.

Wrexham

Barlowe & Edward

barlowe
Ahh, home at last...
edward
(smiles) C'mon, old man. A few more steps and you'll be there.
If ya need to be carried the rest of the way, just ask!
barlowe
(smiles) Don't insult me. I may be your elder, but I am way fitter than you.
edward
Hah! Wanna say that to my fist in your face?
barlowe
I don't believe Kyra here would allow that...
kyra
Hey, don't get me involved.
edward
Gehahahahahaha! Tough luck! Lassie's always on my side!
kyra
No I'm not. If you punch the margrave, I'm punching you twice.
(Edward flinches.)
edward
(frowns) Yeowch! That hurt just to hear...!
barlowe
Hohohoho... It has been a true pleasure to make your acquaintance, Kyra.
The gates of Wrexham shall always be wide open to you.
kyra
(smiles) Thanks, Margrave. I'll be sure to pay you a visit some time.
barlowe
(frowns) ...Kyra, back when we met...
I told you to call me Barlowe rather than Margrave.
kyra
(frowns) You did? Gosh, with all that happened after that, I completely forgot...
barlowe
Don't worry. I'm just hoping that, now that the unpleasantness is over...
kyra
Of course... Barlowe.
edward
(smirks) Y'know, Barlowe, a while back she chewed Pericles out for the same thing.
barlowe
(smiles) Oho, did she now?
(Kyra sputters.)
kyra
(frowns) Oh, c'mon, that's not fair! That's way different!
Pericles kept calling me “dame.” I ain't no dame!
edward
Gehahahahahaha! “I ain't no dame,” she says!
barlowe
Hahahahaha...
kyra
(smiles) Sure. Laugh it up. Old coots...

Barlowe, Fiadh, & Beatrix (requires Fiadh to be alive)

barlowe
Well, Fiadh... Let us take it easy for a few days, shall we?
fiadh
Yes, that's probably for the best...
I don't mind some action, but this has been a lot.
barlowe
I would not want you too exhausted when we begin your instruction.
fiadh
Hmm? My... instruction, Margrave?
barlowe
Naturally. The duties of a margrave are many.
I must teach you the ropes, lest they wrap around your neck...
fiadh
...Huh?
barlowe
(smiles) I want you to be the best margravine you can, once you succeed me.
(Fiadh balks.)
fiadh
WHAT?!

If Beatrix is alive

beatrix
(smiles) Ahahahaha! Oh, if only you could see the look on your face!
You're so cute, Fiadh. I mean, c'mon, is it really that shocking?
Who else was he going to name his heir, if not you?
fiadh
Wha... But... I... He...!

(Fiadh flounders.)

I-I'm not margravine material! I know nothing of politics!
I don't know much of anything beyond loosing arrows at things!
I'd be an absolutely awful heir. Pick someone else! Anyone!

barlowe
(serious) Hmm, well. Beatrix?
beatrix
(frowns) Nuh-uh. I like the shadows too much. It's got to be Fiadh.
She's kind, pure of heart and strong as they come.
If you want my advice... You've got no one better for the job.
barlowe
(smiles) And there you have it.
fiadh
Beatrix, you morsel! Don't enable him...!
barlowe
(serious) Of course, it's not like I will simply vanish overnight.
I'm not retiring tomorrow. We have plenty of time.
And so long as I draw breath, I will be there to counsel you.
Please, Fiadh. I once more implore you to trust in my judgment.
fiadh
......
(smiles) I'll admit... Knowing you trust me with this? It feels good.
Fine. Why the heck not? How difficult could it be?
beatrix
(smiles) That's the spirit! Now, for the first lesson, we must work on your temper issues.
Wouldn't do for you to kill the first diplomat that came to parley with you.
fiadh
(still smiling) I'm going to kill you, Beatrix.
beatrix
You'll try, maybe.
(They continue bickering into the distance.)
barlowe
Hahahaha... My dear girl...
I was truly blessed the day you came to my home.
Never lose your fiery heart...

If Beatrix is dead

barlowe
(smiles) Are you truly that surprised?
I do not exactly have a plethora of options.
And even if I did, I have an inkling my decision would be the same.
fiadh
Wha... But... I... You...!

(Fiadh flounders.)

I-I'm not margravine material! I know nothing of politics!
I don't know much of anything beyond loosing arrows at things!
I'd be an absolutely awful heir. Pick someone else! Anyone!

How difficult could it be?
barlowe
Thank you, my girl...
fiadh
Wow... Me, margravine of Wrexham...
Hah! Damn, that feels so horribly wrong to say.
Er... Please excuse me, Margrave. I, uh... I need to take a moment.
barlowe
Hahahaha... My dear girl...
I was truly blessed the day you came to my home.
Never lose your fiery heart...

Laertes

laertes
Say, Commander... Before we part ways...
My poor little granddaughter, ohhh she was climbing a tree...
She fell, and her poor little ankle got all twisted...
In order to get her fixed up, I might need, uh, let's say...
kyra
Laertes, if you don't disappear in less than a minute, so help me, I'm going to grab you by what hair you've left and--
laertes
(smiles) Peace, peace! I could not resist having a little more fun at your expense.
For what it's worth, Commander, I have been honored to serve.
It is an interesting thing, being one of the world's saviors.
I have rather enjoyed the time we have shared.
kyra
Too bad I can't say the same.
Get out of here, you shameless scoundrel.
laertes
(still smiling) Heh. Whatever you say, my dear friend.
If ever you find yourself in need again, do call on me.
You know you can always rely on me... With the proper motivation.
(Laertes leaves.)
kyra
Yeah, right. I'd sooner dig up Sandraudiga's corpse.

Conan

conan
Our paths diverge here, Commander.
kyra
Not going back to Conwy?
conan
I did not hail from that place, nor do I have any reason to return.
I shall remain in this area, and see if I can enter Margrave Barlowe's employ.
kyra
I'm still here. I can put in a good word, if you like.
conan
That would be appreciated.
However, keep in mind only our contract is through.
My respect and admiration for you still run strong.
Should you ever require force of arms again...
Please, do try to find me. I would gladly be a part of your unit anew.
kyra
Maybe I'll find you for reading recommendations instead.
conan
(smiles) Oho! There's an interesting topic.
Uh, pardon me, but I did not take you for an avid reader...
kyra
(smiles) I can read, but I never did read much...
Maybe I'd like to get into it now, though.
conan
In that case... I shall prepare a list for next we meet.
kyra
Haha... Great. Thanks, Conan. Stay safe out there.
conan
You as well, Commander. You as well...

Dahl

dahl
Goodbye, Commander. Here's where we split up.
kyra
Not going back to Powys?
dahl
All that kept me there was work, and no longer, obviously.
No, I think I'll stick around Wrexham. Try to sign a contract with the margrave.
kyra
I'm still here. I can put in a good word, if you like.
dahl
I thank you for the gesture, but that won't be necessary.
I should only require my own wits and merits.
kyra
You'll be like that to the end, huh?
dahl
(smiles) It is just who I am.
For what it's worth, usually I feel a tad restless about working under others.
With you? Honestly, I could've gotten used to it.
What you lack in ambition and vision, you have in strength and will.
You are the kind of person they write stories about.
kyra
(smiles) C'mon, Dahl. Enough with the flattery.
dahl
I do not flatter lightly. I mean every word.
Seek me out if you find yourself in trouble again.
I wouldn't complain about working for you again.
kyra
I'll remember that. Thanks, Dahl. Stay safe out there.
dahl
Same to you.

Órlaith

Órlaith
Commander Kyra. This is where we part ways.
kyra
It's been a pleasure, Órlaith. Thanks for all the help.
Órlaith
No, please... I've done nothing special.
It's an honor to have been with you and the margrave for this.
(Barlowe approaches.)
barlowe
As a matter of fact, I would argue you are a truly special individual.
Órlaith
M-Margrave...? C'mon, don't do that... I'm just another knight among many.
barlowe
Kyra, I believe she told you of the time we first met.
kyra
When you helped her to find her toy?
barlowe
You may also recall what I told you of my past.
Of the ambitious, arrogant young fool I once was.
I tried to tell her... My actions were not as noble as she had assumed.
At the time, I only helped her because she would not stop clinging to me.
I didn't even keep any recollection of the anecdote, until she jogged my memory.
kyra
Sheesh... Never meet your heroes, huh?
Órlaith
Well, by the time we met, he was every bit the man I had imagined he was.
I don't know why he insists on talking himself down...
barlowe
(smiles) Nevertheless, the ideal you had formed in your mind was false.
But you made it true, by embodying it yourself.
Órlaith
What? I'm just... Just an ordinary girl.
Certainly nothing compared to heroes like you or Kyra...
barlowe
Character should not be measured with heroics, Órlaith.
But even so, you forget, you have been a part of this, just as much as we were.
And in times of peace, your humility and consideration are far more valuable.
You should not feel honored to serve me, Órlaith. Rather...
I am the one who is honored to count one such as you among my knights.
kyra
(smiles) Yeah. Keep being yourself, Órlaith. You're great.
Órlaith
Margrave... Commander...
(smiles) Thanks. I'm... so happy you two feel that way.

Flintshire

Raleigh

raleigh
Pa... You came to wait for me?
You shouldn't have done that. It's too cold out here...
raleigh's father
How could I sit still, after I received your letter?
Why, if you took much longer, I might have set out for Amnisos myself!
raleigh
(smiles) ...Pa... It's good to be home.
raleigh's father
(smiles) Hah... I hope you won't set out again too soon.
I wouldn't stop you, but I'd like to spend some time with you!
(Raleigh balks.)
raleigh
(frowns) Wha-- Set out again?! Are you kidding me?!
That was awful! I nearly died so many times!
I'm through with the life of the soldier. Never again!
raleigh's father
(serious) That may be, but... I can see it in your eyes, my child.
You are proud of what you and your allies accomplished.
raleigh
...Well...
(smiles) Yeah. I can't deny that. We did some great things.
You're not going to believe half of it.
Seriously, it got absolutely insane at one point!
raleigh's father
(smiles) Hehe, well... Why don't we go home and you can tell me everything?
I'll prepare something special for you to eat while you do!
raleigh
Anything would do, honestly.
I'm just... I'm so glad to be back, Pa...

Pluto & Plato

If Plato is alive

plato
(grinning) Heyyyyyyyyyyyy! The Kyra-mmander!
Sniff... Ahh, can you smell that in the air?
It's the scent of farewell... Tragedy abounds!
Teary-eyed goodbyes and promises of reunion!
But not all promises can be kept...
Ohhh, it's enough to make me wanna cry, too!
kyra
...I take it this means you're getting off here?
pluto
Yeah... We live in the area, actually.
It'll be nice to see Mom and Dad again.
It's... been a while...
plato
They're gonna be so proud of you, Ploo!
You've come so far since you joined up with your girlfriend!
Look at you! You even spoke up without me nudging you just now!
Tell the truth, Kyra. You're all over the moon for him, ain'cha?
You can admit it. No shame in it. He's quite the catch!
pluto
...I'm so sorry, Commander...
kyra
Don't be. I'm inclined to agree with him, there.
(Pluto starts.)
pluto
What?!
kyra
I don't think I'm... interested, personally, but...
(smiles) You're going to make someone really happy one day, Pluto.
So have some confidence in yourself, all right?
See you around. Hope we meet again one day.
(Kyra leaves.)
pluto
(smiles) ...Huh...
(Plato huffs.)
plato
(frowns) Yikes! Friendzoned...
Hey, Ploo, want me to chase after her and... cut her down to size?
Just gimme the word and I'll avenge your honor, my brother!

Heyyyyyy, wait a minute-- You're... smiling? Why?!

pluto
(still smiling) ...Oh, shut up, you idiot. You wouldn't get it.
Let's just get home, all right?
plato
Heh heh heh heh... Whatever you say, Ploo.

If Plato is dead

pluto
Commander... The end is nigh.
kyra
...I take it this means you're getting off here?
pluto
Yeah... I live in the area, actually.
It'll be nice to see Mom and Dad again.
It's... been a while...
kyra
I'm sure they'll be overjoyed to see you.
pluto
Eh. I don't know.
Sometimes I feel I'm the family disappointment...
kyra
Don't be like that, Pluto.
Honestly, now that I know you a bit better...
I think you're a pretty good guy. It was nice having you along.
pluto
...You think so, Commander?
kyra
(smiles) Sure I do. So have some confidence in yourself, all right?
See you around. Hope we meet again one day.
(Kyra leaves.)
pluto
(smiles) ...huh...
Thanks, Commander. That... makes me feel a lot better.

Nicaea

kyra
...Hey! Nicaea!
nicaea
I had hoped to depart without any final words, Commander.
kyra
That sounds ominous.
Tell me, what do you plan to do next?
nicaea
I don't know. I feel completely lost.
It's all over. The Tartaros I despised is gone.
The sister I resented is gone as well.
I got everything I ever wanted, and now...
I don't know how I can live with myself.
kyra
But you'll live. That's my last order to you.
nicaea
...An order, huh.
kyra
It's your turn to prove that you are not like them.
Live your life and do some good for the ones that are still here.
nicaea
Hmm. I guess that beats my current idea.
I'll... give it a shot. New country, new life...
kyra
The next time we meet, I hope to see you at peace.
So try your best, all right, Nicaea?
nicaea
(smiles) ...Thank you, Commander. I'll do all I can.

Zaccheus

zaccheus
It has most certainly been... something, Commander.
Eugh... I look forward to never having to call you that again.
Lowly pauper like you, giving orders to me, a margrave!
Sickening. Absolutely sickening. I am so glad it is over at last.
kyra
You're just being allowed to go back home?
After the stunt you pulled back then?
zaccheus
(smiles) Hah! Pish posh. What did I do, in all earnesty?
It was Delilah that did something to your old fossil of a friend.
The only one with qualms about me was that mouse Simeon...
And I fear he is much too dead to levy any complaints now.
Something I have you to thank for, lest you forget.
kyra
Right. Well, want a piece of advice you don't deserve?
Quit being a jerk. It's just going to land you in trouble eventually.
zaccheus
(scowls) And what would you know? You're no leader. Not truly.
You were not born with exalted blood like I was...
kyra
...All right, you know what? I've heard enough out of you.
Here's hoping I never have to see your slimy face again.
(Kyra leaves.)
zaccheus
(smirks) ...Oh, but you will, you miserable little nobody... You certainly will.
I will not end up in a ditch like that pond toad Simeon.
Hehehe... My revenge, it shall be a marvel to behold!
Just you wait, fool. Just you wait...

Simeon

simeon
I would not call it a pleasure, but it is now over, at least.
Do you have any last minute commands, “Commander?”
I'm giving you one last chance to bark orders at your superiors.
You most certainly won't get it again.
kyra
You're just being allowed to go back home?
After the stunt you pulled back then?
simeon
(smiles) What stunt? Tell me in truth. What DID I do?
Delilah, she tried to kill and then kidnap your dear Barlowe.
Me? The only one that had an issue with me was Zaccheus.
Need I remind you who it was that... erased that problem?
kyra
Right. Well, want a piece of advice you don't deserve?
Quit being a jerk. It's just going to land you in trouble eventually.
simeon
(scowls) Spoken like the true vulgar plebeian you are.
Truly doth my heart ache for the common fool's plight...
kyra
...All right, you know what? I've heard enough out of you.
Here's hoping I never have to see your slimy face again.
(Kyra leaves.)
simeon
(smirks) ...Your wishes may not be granted... No, quite the contrary...
I am not like Zaccheus. You have not seen the last of me.
You owe me some vengeance for all the humiliation.
And so help me, I shall take it, quite sooner than later!

Delilah & Jane

If both are alive

kyra
...Say, where's Delilah?
She and her bodyguard seem to have disappeared.
edward
Oh. Well.
Good. Let them. Who cares?
kyra
I don't know. I don't like it.
What if they try something against Barlowe again?
edward
(smiles) Bah. Don't worry about that. It's finished for Delilah.
After what she pulled? Trying to kill another margrave?
Barlowe didn't rattle the hornet's nest as long as she was useful to us, but now that she ain't, he'll probably raise the issue to the margravates.
Ain't no one gonna show her support. Her reign is over and done.
kyra
That is reassuring, but...
Somehow I have a feeling she's going to find a way to slip away.
delilah
Haa... Haa...
Are we... Are we being followed, Jane?
jane
Not a soul behind us as far as my eyes can see.
Are you all right, Mistress? Can you make it the rest of the way?
delilah
I'm... not certain, Jane... I may need a break...
jane
Hop on my arms. I'll carry you!
delilah
(smiles) Oh, such a determined look on your face. Heroic, even...
You cannot fool me. Your offer is entirely self-indulgent.
You would love to carry your wicked princess to her castle...
You would savor every moment!
jane
(smiles) W-Well... I'm not gonna deny it...
delilah
You shouldn't. The time for pretense is past.
Margravine, retainer... I spit on the titles!
We will take the gold and valuables I have at my disposal, and fade from the open view of humanity once and for all.
Soon our whole world shall be only you and I...
jane
Yes... Y-Yes, that sounds amazing, Mistress!
I can't wait. I... Aw, heck, I love you, Mistress!
delilah
And I love you back, with every ounce of my rotten being.
Come, my smitten paladin. Take me...
jane
With utmost pleasure, Mistress...

If Delilah is dead

kyra
Well, Jane, that's that. How are you feeling?
jane
I'm... not sure.
I no longer have a job. My previous contract... is over.
kyra
Good, I'd say. You can find a better employer now.
jane
......
kyra
Um, Jane?
jane
You just don't understand anything, do you, Kyra?
kyra
Where's this coming from?
jane
It's all right. I get it. You don't get it.
I don't get it either. It's so dumb.
I'm so dumb. That's just who I am.
kyra
Jane, are you all right? If there's anything I--
jane
No, there is nothing you can do!
You've done enough, in fact.
I'll be fine. Just leave me alone.
(Jane storms off.)
kyra
...I can't believe it... Is she still...?

If Jane is dead

delilah
(smiling) I must say, loath as I am to admit it, I have greatly enjoyed this.
I got to forget all the annoyances of nobility for a while.
Playing the part of the rabid warrior, concerned only with survival...
And with the bloody demise of my enemies, of course. Hahaha...
kyra
Real glad you got your kicks, Delilah.
Now get out of my sight. Go back to your domains.
For however long they're yours, anyway...
delilah
(still smiling) Heh... Barlowe will not let things stand, now that my usefulness has ran out.
He might seek my imprisonment. Worse, perhaps...
But, come what may? I shall face it with my head held high!
kyra
Hey, if you're happy, I'm happy.
Just keep one thing well in mind, Delilah...
If you manage to wiggle your way out of this bind, you better not try anything funny against Barlowe.
You may regret being born when I find you.
delilah
(scowls) Hmph... What part of “with my head held high” did you not comprehend?
I am not a proud idiot. I know when I have been bested.
I have no desire to provoke the beasts.
So don't you worry your pretty little head about anything.
You will hear no further from me. Rest assured of that.
(Delilah leaves.)
kyra
...I can't believe it... Is she still...?

Percote

Tiresias & Wulfric

If Wulfric is alive

kyra
Looks like reconstruction is well underway already...
This part of the village almost looks as good as ever.
That won't bring the dead back, but...
Still a comforting sight, I guess.
wulfric
Now that we are here, we can all contribute.
Percote will be fully restored soon enough, Kyra.
kyra
You don't have to do that, you know.
Any debt you may have ever owed to me, you've repaid tenfold by now.
tiresias
(smiles) Bold of you to presume we are here out of some sense of debt.
We do not have a true home, remember? We were fine with it, but it's about time we settled down. For a time, at least.
What better place to do that than our dear friend's hometown?
kyra
(smiles) Well... You're certainly welcome to stay as long as you like.
There's a few empty houses now, or you can stay with us at the guild.
edward
(smiles) Plenty o' room there! The more, the merrier!
wulfric
Oh, no, please! We would not want to impose.
Goodness knows we have done that enough.
edward
Heh, yeah... And you two probably want some privacy, don't ya?
wulfric
(frowns) A-Ah, er... We did not wish to spit on your generosity, but...
kyra
No offense taken. We get it. We'll find you a place to stay.
tiresias
From the bottom of our joint hearts, thank you, friends.
kyra
I think you'll like it here. It's a nice, quiet place, surrounded by nature.
edward
Lots of nice, out of the way spots for a happy couple to retreat to, too...
tiresias
Hah! Did you hear that, Wulfric? They take us for a pair of schoolboys in love!
wulfric
(smiles) Well, you ARE a scholar.
That's essentially just a schoolboy that's bigger and older, right?
tiresias
Hahaha... In a sense, I suppose.

If Wulfric is dead

kyra
Looks like reconstruction is well underway already...
This part of the village almost looks as good as ever.
That won't bring the dead back, but...
Still a comforting sight, I guess.
tiresias
We can all lend a hand now that we're here.
Percote will be back to its former glory soon, you'll see.
kyra
You don't have to do that, you know.
Any debt you may have ever owed to me,
you've repaid tenfold by now.
tiresias
Well... I do not have a true home, remember?
And now that Wulfric has left me all alone in this realm...
Forgive me. I feel terribly selfish to impose this upon you, but...
kyra
Don't. We would be delighted to have you stay with us.
If you can find it in yourself to forgive us for...
tiresias
No, Kyra. There is nothing to forgive.
The ones at fault have been dealt with.
Only remains to try and stave off the sorrow in my heart...
But that is my burden, mine and mine alone.
edward
Er, well... Yer welcome to come live with us at the guild.
It's gonna feel awfully empty, without Eli...
tiresias
What you're saying is for us to lend each other our shoulders to cry on.
Yes... That does sound like the best course. Thank you, my friends.
I am fortunate to have such good people on my side...
kyra
We could say the same about you, Tiresias.

Eupraxia & Thyone

thyone
So this is the young commander's hometown...
eupraxia
All these years, I lived not too far, in a small house I built in the forest.
I was filled with too much hatred, too much shame...
For the things I'd done in my past life. For what I let my own child become.
I could not bear to live among people. Thus I retreated to the shadows.
thyone
Do you intend to return there?
eupraxia
...No. I do not miss loneliness.
But I do believe I will settle down here. It is quite near.
If ever I feel like reminiscing, I can take a walk to my old home...
And here, for the first time in so long, I will be among friends.
thyone
Then this is where I shall remain, as well.
There is one person with whom I'd spend my remaining years.
(smiles) And it is plainly obvious that she does not await me at the capital.
eupraxia
(smiles) Thyone...
(frowns) Forgive me. I should not feel joy at this outcome.
The sorrow you must be suffering right now...
thyone
(serious) My child died a hero.
My heart bleeds for his untimely fate, but...
He gave his life so that I could live mine.
The selfish thing would be to succumb to sorrow.
Especially when there is still someone who needs me...
eupraxia
......
I spent so many years preparing for that moment, and yet...
The sight of her... Destroyed, twisted, deranged...
(closes eyes) I-It shall never leave me.
thyone
I hate that there is nothing more I can do, Eupraxia...
But I will be here for you, just as you were for me, back then.
eupraxia
(smiles) ......
Like I said... I know I should not feel joy.
And yet... I cannot help it.
I had never dared dream that we could again...
thyone
(smiles) Of all things of which to be ashamed, happiness should not be one of them.
I feel it also, Eupraxia. Because...
We are free now. Nothing stands between us any longer...
eupraxia
Thank you, Thyone... Thank you truly...

Phobos & Telemus

kyra
Whew... Home sweet home, huh, Phobos?
phobos
Y-Yeah... I almost can't believe I lived through that whole thing...
Too many people weren't so lucky. Half my family is gone...
kyra
...They can rest now. And so can we...
phobos
...Hard to believe it's only been a few months since this all started.
Since I... was too cowardly to stand by your side when you needed me...
kyra
What? Don't tell me you're still feeling bad about that!
C'mon, Phobos. It was ages ago. No one holds it against you.
phobos
See, that's just the thing. I know you don't.
I've made so many mistakes, and yet... You never gave up on me.
(smiles) You're a great friend, Kyra. I'm not sure I deserve to have you...
kyra
Hey, I could say the same to you.
You may not've had my back that one time, but ever since? You always have.
No matter how strong the foe, how dire the hurdle, you stood your ground with us.
That speaks of your courage.
phobos
(frowns) My courage? Oh, please, Kyra...
kyra
(smiles) I'm serious! You need to believe in yourself more, man.
phobos
(smiles) Heh... Yeah. You're right. Maybe I do.
And hey, it's not like it's all doom and gloom.
At least my mom's still alive, thank the Mother...

If Telemus is alive

kyra
Oh yeah, she's back as well, right?
phobos
(frowns) Uh, yes...
kyra
...Oh, there she is! Standing back there!
(Phobos jumps.)
phobos
N-Not so loud, Kyra!
kyra
Hmm?
...Wait, what's going on...?
(They observe a conversation between Phobos' mother and Telemus.)
phobos'
mother
(smiling) O-Oh, oh my... Hoho, oh, Sir Telemus, please!
Stop with the jokes already...! Ohoho, oh my goodness...
telemus
(smiles) It was not meant in jest, my good lady.
Normally I only paint landscapes... But I would expand my art.
My skills are humble. Hardly worthy of you, and yet...
It would be my honor to paint your portrait.
phobos'
mother
Hahaha... W-Why, I agree! I absolutely agree!
Ah, dear me... First you save my life, then you paint me?
I don't know what I did to deserve this blessing!
telemus
I know just the backdrop to best capture your beauty.
I spotted the most beautiful waterfall, amid weeping willows...
It is quite close. It would take us no time at all. Might I have your hand?
phobos'
mother
Please, take both, if it pleases you! Heeheehee...
(Focus returns to Kyra and Phobos.)
phobos
......
kyra
......
Soooo... How do you feel about that?
phobos
Well... He did save her life, back then.
And she certainly could do a lot worse.
I mean, my father ran off after I was born.
This should be a big improvement.
We've seen firsthand what a good guy he is.
kyra
...And yet?
(Phobos squirms.)
phobos
D-Dammit, I don't know! It's weird, all right?
I don't know how I'm supposed to feel...
kyra
(smiles) Pfft... Why don't you try being happy for her?
phobos
(smiles) ...Y-Yeah. Good idea.
In any case... It's good to be back.
kyra
You said it.

If Telemus is dead

phobos'
mother
(smiling) Only barely, my child... Only barely.
Kyra, I must extend my thanks to you as well.
kyra
(frowns) I don't know if I deserve them, to be honest.
What happened to Percote was my--
phobos'
mother
(frowns) Stop. That's not true.
It was that vile Grand Inquisitor that did it...
Phobos told me all that happened since.
Good riddance to the lot of them, I say!
No, I'd rather thank you for keeping my boy safe.
kyra
Well, he's kept me safe, too.
phobos
(smiles) Bah. You're just trying to make me look good...
kyra
(smiles) Seriously! You've been a great help.
phobos'
mother
(smiles) Hoho... It feels so good to see us all back home.
Would you like to come by for lunch later, Kyra?
kyra
Just like the old days, huh... Yeah, that sounds good.
phobos'
mother
Then I'll go get everything ready!
I won't need help, Phobos. Just stay here with her...
(Phobos' mother leaves.)
phobos
(frowns) ...You think she has the wrong idea about us?
kyra
Maybe...
phobos
(smiles) Well, either way... It's good to be back.
kyra
You said it.

Pheme

If Pheme is alive

kyra
Hey, Pheme...
pheme
I'm holding up all right. Thanks for being about to ask.
kyra
Y-Yeah, sorry... I don't want to be pushy, it's just...
pheme
......
No, actually... I don't know if I'm holding up all right.
I don't even know why I bothered coming back here.
My brother is dead. I don't have anyone else waiting for me.
kyra
Well... I'm here.
pheme
......
(smiles) You're right. You're here, Kyra.
And as long as you're here, by my side... I'll be fine.

If Pheme is dead

kyra
......
Hey, Pheme... Are you seeing this?
We're back... Percote's back...
...I just... hope you and your brother are together now.
(closes eyes) And... That you'll forgive me.

Kyra & Edward (& Hestia)

If Kyra & Hestia have A-rank support

hestia
Er... Kyra?
edward
(smiles) Ahh, my old guild... So good to see you again.
kyra
(smiles) Oh yeah, I nearly forgot. You're supposed to be my boss.
edward
Heh, I think saving the world warrants some time off.
We'll have to get back to work eventually, but...
For now, let's just sit back and stretch our legs, huh?

(frowns) Oh, but I almost forgot.
I think I may've left the stove burning when we left...

(Kyra boggles.)
kyra
Wha-- Wait, sorry?!
edward
(smirks) Yeah. I better go check on that quick.
You two stay out here, in case the place explodes.
Or something.
hestia
(smiling) ...Pretty lame excuse, man.
edward
Baaah...
(Edward leaves.)
hestia
(serious) ...So...
kyra
Yeah...
hestia
You got room for one more in there?
kyra
Sure we do. You can take Elias's room.
hestia
...Is... Is that okay?
Gosh, I don't know... Wouldn't that be...?
kyra
Hey. I'm not going to deny it. I've been happier.
But he wouldn't have wanted me to feel this way.
He got so upset when he felt like a burden...
hestia
I don't think he would've been upset that his sister's crying for him.
It's not like you can help it, right?
kyra
I can't help the tears. But I can try to move on.
(smiles) And... It's gonna be a heck of a lot easier thanks to a certain someone.
hestia
(smiles) I'm... really glad you feel that way.
kyra
But hey, I get your apprehension.
I've got an idea for how we can solve the problem.
hestia
By the look on your face, I can only imagine it's gonna be good.
kyra
If you don't want to move into Elias's room...
You can move into mine.
Bed's a little small, but we can make that work... Right?
hestia
Heehee... I'm sure we can.

If not

edward
(smiles) Ahh, my old guild... So good to see you again.
kyra
(smiles) Oh yeah, I nearly forgot. You're supposed to be my boss.
edward
Heh, I think saving the world warrants some time off.
We'll have to get back to work eventually, but...
For now, let's just sit back and stretch our legs, huh?
kyra
Yeah...
edward
(frowns) ...Thinking about Eli, aren't you?
It's gonna feel so weird, not having him around...
kyra
(serious) But he wouldn't have wanted us to feel this way.
You know how he got when he felt like a burden...
edward
Ah, quite right.
He'd be all upset if he knew we're cryin' big tears over him...
kyra
We can't help the tears. But we can try to move on.
(smiles) So, how about first thing, we swing by the alehouse and get some porkchops?
edward
(smiles) Sounds just dandy to me! On me, of course.
kyra
Oh, fine... Then I guess I'll get the extra expensive special.
edward
Awww, heck...

Demeter

demeter
(smiles) ...Well, wasn't that a wild journey?
It had its ups and its downs, but all things considered, it's reached a pretty happy conclusion. I'm so happy about that!
And I had so much fun! I'm so grateful to them for taking me along.
Knowing I've been a small, tiny part of this, it fills me with pride and joy!
I'd like to thank you, too. For sticking with us the whole way.
You're awesome. I hope we see you again some day.

(grinning widely) And now... Roll credits!

Final Message

Congratulations on finishing the game! This is the end of the tale.
You have unlocked the ability to change a certain character's tragic fate on a new run!
Just as long as she is strong enough to survive, that is...
A couple other things might also be a little different on a second run. Keep an eye out!

Consider also making different choices with the margraves, Glaucus or the mercenaries.
Or perhaps try to find some secrets! Here's a hint for one.
Did you notice a house where you recruited a certain unit was also visible on a later map when you returned to that location?
Perhaps the unit will be there still if you don't recruit them the first time around...

However... If you're still in the mood for more right now, the Postgame is now available!
You will now be taken there automatically. Have fun!
