Hahahahahahahahaaaa!
Just a quick word of warning:
The guide has been
heavily modified.
(That's the ingame guide,
which you can access
from the action menu)
It will now contain tips
that might be of interest
to you.
Be sure to check
it often!
You can skip combat animations by holding the L or A button.
To make the enemy units move faster without skipping animations, hold L and A together!
This works for healing animations, so you don't have to turn off Lyon's awesome animations once he gets a staff!
In this hack, unit death doesn't mean you lose their entire inventory.
All the items in a unit's possession are sent to the convoy upon their demise.
However, if there's no room in the convoy, the items will vanish. Be careful with that!
Riev only wants the best for you. You should always listen to him.
How could you not trust such an adorable man?
Supports in this hack don't work like they do in standard GBAFE.
You cannot gain supports by keeping units together on the map for a few turns.
Instead, support levels are gained at set points via talks and other events.
Some of these convos don't grant supports, instead granting stats, items and other things.
You'll be warned of these conversations before the start of each chapter.
Keep in mind these warnings are not shown for recruitment conversations,
or for optional convos that do not have any effect in gameplay. Keep an eye out for those!
Lastly, red warnings correspond to convos that belong in a chain.
If you miss one of these, you cannot continue the chain, so keep that in mind!
You may have noticed that Vidofnir is somewhat weaker than the other Sacred Twins.
However, in this hack, it has a special property: It protects flying units from arrows.
You don't have to give it to a flier, but it is a good option.
All status effects only last for three turns in this hack. Keep this in mind going forward!
Poison in this hack is a little more dangerous than usual.
It will deal 4-10 damage per turn instead of 1-3. Keep a close eye on the health of poisoned units!
You can achieve an S rank on multiple weapon types at once in this hack.
Also, instead of 5 hit and crit, S ranks grant 5 hit and 1 attack.
Be wary if you ever find yourself battling enemies with S ranks!
Enemy generals do not have Great Shield. This is because that skill on enemies is utterly moronic and no one likes it.
However, the playable generals get to keep it. This totally balances out the choice between general and great knight.
In this hack, you will never get promotion items other than master seals.
Do not fret over whether or not you'll be able to promote all your mages or cavaliers.
Just give the seals you find to your favorite units!
Lyon actually works a bit differently from everyone else. He will never promote. Instead, he can level up to level 30.
He's also never going to get a second magic type like druids do.
Consider these factors before you write off other dark users as just "worse Lyons that need a master seal."
After all, sword lords never stopped anyone from using mercenaries, did they?
The two brigands are technically thieves, so they can do thief stuff as well!
Speed is no longer a requirement for stealing. Bazba can steal no matter how slow he is!
Otherwise, assassins can steal as well as use lockpicks in this hack.
You'll get two myrmidons you can promote to that class if you need more thieves.
Oh, and you can steal with a full inventory in this hack. You'll just have to send something to the convoy!
The three knights, Breguet, Saar and Tirado, can perform the fabled triangle attack together.
There is a caveat, though: They can only initiate it if they are knights or generals.
Great knight's probably still the superior promotion, but hey, keep this in mind if you care about those sweet, sweet guaranteed criticals!
No, there is no pegasus triangle attack. Pegasus knights are poopy.
You have obtained your first monster unit. Monster units work a bit differently from human units.
They only have one promotion option, but they don't need an item - they will automatically promote when they hit level 10.
Some use the same weapons as human units, while others need their own special arsenal. It depends on the monster.
Oh, and don't worry too much about the monsters you did not pick. You will be given this choice multiple times later on!
Lieselott, Tiffani and Melina, if you recruited them, are trainee units.
However, they aren't quite the same as the trainees you know and love.
Lieselott, unlike Amelia, promotes to pegasus knight instead of knight.
Tiffani, unlike Ewan, promotes to monk instead of shaman, losing her anima rank in the process.
Melina, unlike Ross, promotes to archer instead of pirate, losing her axe rank in the process.
Nate may have been a member of Bazba's Bandits, but he is not, in fact, a bandit.
He is a pirate. This means he, unlike Bazba and Bone, does not have the abilities of a thief.
He also has slightly different promotion options. And swimming, of course!
Snipers in this hack get the Pierce skill instead of wyvern knights. This makes them very scary.
Be very careful when facing enemy snipers, and keep this in mind when promoting your own archers.
A number of similar changes were made to other class skills. Be sure to check the class descriptions when promoting!
Much like Lyon, Morva can be leveled up to level 30. Be careful, however, as his weapon is limited.
You won't be able to repair it, and you won't get another weapon for him until much later on.
Use dragons wisely!
The legendary sacred twins of Magvel seem to deal effective damage against Lyon.
Enemy bishops, too. Isn't that odd? Why would that be, I wonder?
Orson and Monica's innate A support looks pretty nice, but it doesn't come without its downsides.
Should Monica perish in combat, there is no telling how Orson will react.
It would be best you do not let her die - especially if Orson is also deployed.
On the other hand, Monica is not capable of caring if he dies, so that won't be an issue!
Each monster has a unit that they will grant a personal weapon to when recruited.
The monsters can also use these weapons, even if they lack the weapon type for it.
However, keep in mind these weapons will not give weapon EXP when used!
Boudica has an innate crit boost, akin to human berserkers.
However, keep in mind Tiffani's the only thing keeping her on your side.
Should she die, there is no telling how Boudica may react...
Medusa's stone will not affect bosses, even if it looks like it does at first glance.
Don't waste it like that, for the item cannot be repaired or found anywhere else!
(Until the postgame, anyway)
The generals who have joined you so far retreat if their HP hits 0. The best commanders die in bed, after all!
Glen and Valter, however, are not backed by a proper army. They'll have nowhere to run if they're taken down.
Be careful not to let them die in this chapter, for it would spell doom upon you! (By doom I mean game over)
Like Valter and Glen in chapter 2, Caellach won't be able to retreat if he is injured critically in this map.
Caellach is a pretty big deal, so you'll lose if he goes down. Be careful where you move him!
Someone on the field seems to want to have a word with someone in your army.
He has nothing to say in turn, so he won't be able to start the conversation. They have to do it on their turn.
It seems General Caellach has some kind of scheme in motion involving that one dashing rogue with the hat.
Perhaps see about giving him a more accurate sword before his confrontation with his redhaired friend.
No more waiting. Your earlygame healer awaits you in this map.
There is also a heal staff for Lyon. Start building that staff rank, bookworm boy!
The good captain Saar is, in fact, not relevant to this story.
Should he die, there would be no great consequences. In fact, the map just ends if Saar dies!
Of course, you lose a WHOLE bunch of stuff if that happens. Also, Saar's items won't go to the convoy if he dies here.
But hey. All in the name of LTC, eh?
Also keep in mind killing all the enemies ends the map as well.
Don't worry about defending the throne. The enemies don't care about it.
I mean, why would they? It's just a chair.
Oh, and by the way, you cannot block the reinforcements on this map. Don't get trapped now!
Once you enter the castle of Renvall, there will be no going back.
You never know what could happen. Make sure you prepare for, say, two chapters in a row without the world map!
If you do not open the cell and liberate the prisoners, they will not rejoin your team.
Be careful you don't forget!
One of the new characters that will join your cause in this chapter will cause a game over on death.
It is not Novala, who is completely and utterly irrelevant. This ally will appear a little later.
After this map, they can die like anyone else. Just be careful not to let them fall in this battle!
Carcino is currently inaccessible. The troops within will also not attack you for the time being.
This includes the ballistae and anyone else who can reach over the city's gates.
Forget they're there. It'll be very clear when they become an issue.
You won't be able to visit the world map between the next two chapters.
The same applies to the two chapters immediately afterward.
Make sure you prepare while you still can!
The dragonstone Morva carries is not effective against monster units, like the original game's version.
Don't be afraid to attack Morva with monster units!
Also he doesn't take effective damage from bows. He's just standing there, why would he?!
Don't worry about the wyverns. They will follow Cormag's orders and stay put for now.
They won't even chase you if you get in their range. However, this will not last, so exercise caution.
There will not be a world map break between the next two chapters.
They will be tough ones. Be sure to prepare accordingly.
The throne room will be inaccessible until you kill Garcia.
Unlike back in Carcino, those within will utilize their gear against you, so be wary of them.
Unlike in the original game, any unit is guaranteed to obtain desert treasure if they enter the right area.
Also, a new treasure has been added. They say some trees in this area yield a very special kind of fruit...
You can also obtain a special reward if you kill the correct Innes while sparing his body doubles. Time to play detective.
Lastly, for your convenience, every piece of treasure (except the one mentioned above) has been marked with a bone.
This will no doubt please Bone. He's still alive, right?
Kill all of the civilians for a reward.
Beat this chapter in 16 turns or less to unlock an extra chapter full of nice goodies!
Duessel is under the protection of his weapon's fell magic.
Effective weaponry and status effects will be no good against him in this state.
His spear also has the reaver effect and hits resistance instead of defense.
On the other hand, even though he looks like one, he's not actually a general.
This means you don't have to worry about Great Shield. Silver linings...
Oh wait, I removed Great Shield from enemy generals, didn't I?
Remind me to change this part of this guide entry later.
Ephraim and Eirika are protected by a nefarious power.
They are protected from effective damage and their vitality has been greatly boosted.
However, their weapons have lost their effective capabilities. Everything comes at a cost!
