Endgame B-1: Ruination

Objective Multi-Destroy

“Visit” all four houses and the mansion

Opening

narrator
Once more, evil has come to Yalunzar. Once more, we are the victims of envy and greed. But citizens, do not fear.
You need not deviate from your daily work or worry about some tragic fate.
Time and time again, our most noble defenders have vanquished the wicked.
Evil shall never take hold in Yalunzar, the beacon of light on the Crescent.

-Guildmaster's proclamation

Yalunzar Walls

oily oates
I cannot even sleep soundly, knowing those barbarians lie in wait out of sight.
When will these awful days end?

(A swarm of war golems, plus a chicken, approach.)

soldier
Sir, enemies are approaching!
... Looks like monsters, Sir!
oily oates
Monsters? They've replicated the capabilities of the Iron Realm?
No matter. We stomped them out last time, we can again. Ballistae, open fire.

(Ballistae fire at the war golems, but only manage to inflict flesh wounds. The war golems reach the walls.)

soldier
... Sir, they're not slowing down?
oily oates
What is this? Useless! Kill them!
soldier
Sir, our bolts are not enough! They're almost at the walls now!
oily oates
How can this be? Are they so much more powerful than what came before?
Give an accurate assessment of their army from the ramparts, and report back to me!
soldier
Yes, Sir!

(While he does so, Oates flees. The war golems batter the gates.)

soldier
Sir, they're coming in waves! What are we to do? Sir! Sir?

(The war golems breach the walls.)

Yalunzar Streets

(War golems attack the inhabitants indiscriminately. Civilian bodies litter the streets.)
man
As long as I can see my husband again.
(The war golem kills him. A Guild merchant takes advantage of the distraction to flee.)
young woman
Why now, only when things were looking up for me?
The good times really don't last.
(The war golem kills her. A child manages to flee.)

Bazaar

(War golems chase two civilians to a different area. Another war golem hunts down and kills a civilian. A child hides in one of the stalls.)
boy
(Quiet. Quiet. Quiet. Quiet. Quiet. Quiet. Quiet.)
(A Guild merchant flees. A war golem passes the child by, then suddenly doubles back and kills him.)

Estate

rosetta
Is that all you're going to do?
Just wait here and let your people be torn to pieces in the streets?
guildmaster
Do you think it does not pain me to see the good folk of Yalunzar fall by the dozens?
With Ellerie soon to arrive in the chaos, the only way we can repel these invaders is to fortify our existing footholds.
instead of sending my troops to their death for the chance of saving one more mouth.
rosetta
Even if we entrench ourselves, it matters little if there's no city left to defend.
guildmaster
As long as we hold the core of Yalunzar, everything can be rebuilt.
If even our sole remaining force breaks, then Yalunzar shall be lost to Ellerie.
Lady Rosetta, you should understand how to prioritise the bigger picture, especially with how much your last headstrong excursion cost House Heron.
rosetta
That's a low blow, Guildmaster.
Let us not forget what your convenient omissions have cost us, and how our ships mysteriously were set alight under your watch.
guildmaster
With death coming over the walls, the time for courtesy is over.
Be as a good figurehead should and leave the decisions to the qualified.
It is the best chance that you'll have of ever seeing home again.
(The Guildmaster leaves to fortify her position.)
guildmaster
Sixty years. I saw the first stone being laid for the foundations.
I saw the walls rise over Yalunzar.
I buried all of my companions who once brought life to Yalunzar.
I will die with Yalunzar.
(Rosetta confers with her own troops.)
rosetta
I cannot be content to sit here like a demure princess, while I can still make a difference.
cherise
That's more like it. You don't have to listen to a thing that hag says.
rosetta
You're just eager to get to violence, Instructor.
cherise
There's nothing wrong with desiring bloodshed.
rosetta
I can't disregard everything she said, but I can compromise.
I will take a small team to rescue whoever I can and return quickly.
cherise
Sir Speedwell is not going to agree.
It will look really bad for him if you get eaten while he's just sitting around.
rosetta
Hence why we shall depart and return as swift as the wind.
We've fought plenty of monsters, slaying a few more is nothing if more people will live to see the sunset.
cherise
Save your justifications for someone who needs them. Let's get moving.
(Rosetta's squad runs into the city.)

Yalunzar Streets

(A family of civilians cower behind a group of adventurers.)
rosswick
What a day to brush off the old lance. We'll hold them off here.
man
May Elis bless you, heroes!
young woman
I'll name my next child after you, old man!
(The civilians flee.)
rosswick
You don't even know my name.
darkwood
Hey, you don't know my name either.
rosswick
Of course I do, Bob. I'm not senile.
darkwood
It's Darkwood, Sir. I don't even know where you got Bob from.
rosswick
Close enough, Bob.
A pleasure to have such a courageous young man like yourself to hold off the hordes with.
darkwood
Sir, please, it's Darkwood. I'm not dying here to be remembered as Bob.
(On the other end of the street, the Cannibal kills a war golem. More golems charge Rosswick's position, but he manages to fend them off.)
the cannibal
Irritating.
(Mitchell and Oily Oates arrive from the walls, attempting to flee, but the Cannibal stops them.)
the cannibal
You are fleeing.
mitchell
Of course I am! The walls are down, the militia are broken, the hordes are imminent!
the cannibal
The Guild stands with Yalunzar. The Guild falls with Yalunzar.
mitchell
I joined the Guild for the tax cut, not to die with the city! Now get out of my way!
the cannibal
Then die dishonourably.
(The Cannibal kills Mitchell.)
mitchell
I just... Just wanted to make money... Why?
(Mitchell dies. The Cannibal approaches Oily Oates.)
the cannibal
You are fleeing.
oily oates
I wou- would never! Of course not!
I am simply here to check on the situation and relay the Guildmaster's orders.
the cannibal
Yes?
oily oates
She is... uh, of course, she is calling for the Guild to reinforce her position!
the cannibal
Understood.
oily oates
(Thank the heavens for my wheels being slow.)
(They head back towards the Guildmaster.)

Yalunzar Walls

(The Seahawks enter through the breach.)
ellerie
The gambit has paid off beyond my expectations.
We're within Yalunzar's walls without a single injury.
lindros
...
ellerie
It could've been so much worse for us, for Irinde, for the Crescent. You'll be a hero.
lindros
I don't care about that. Just... Just don't get us killed by our own automatons.
ellerie
They've performed admirably. Almost a shame we have to put them down.
guildmaster
The main event has arrived, yet I feel far calmer than I have any right to be.
Deploy ballistae from our safehouses. Tell the Cannibal to activate the artifact.

If you poisoned the water in Chapter 24

*Cough* I'm still feeling the effects of the tainted water, but it will subside.
Really, Ellerie? Poisoning the water?
speedwell
Young Lady, where could you have disappeared to now, while calamity springs upon us?
Your spontaneous acts of chivalry, which I once so praised, shall do us no favours here.
ellerie
Seahawks! This day, the Crescent's greatest foes and traitors shall fall!
Crush their remaining safehouses, and Yalunzar shall plague us no more!
the cannibal
Artifact active. Staves locked.
narrator
Staves are disabled on this map until the Cannibal dies.
Guildmaster acts first on enemy phase while Oily Oates acts last.

Mortars target the whole map, but can't damage units on a tile with a defensive bonus.

Turn 4

If you killed no horses in Chapter 24

(Mounted reinforcements arrive.)
soldier
Charge, Glorious Gamblers, House Heron's finest cavalry division!

If you killed 1 horse in Chapter 24

(Reinforcements arrive.)
soldier
We may not all come mounted, but we shall get revenge for our mounts so brutually slain!
Charge, Glorious Gamblers, House Heron's finest cavalry division!

If you killed both horses in Chapter 24

(Infantry reinforcements arrive.)
soldier
Curse the wicked folk of this land for slaying innocent horses!
We may have lost our horses, but not our courageous spirit!
Charge, Glorious Gamblers, House Heron's finest cavalry division!

Turn 6

If you killed the pegasus in Chapter 24

(A spearmaiden arrives, but finds herself trapped on the other side of the wall.)
soldier
We'll keep your pegasus safe they said. None would cross the Guild, they said.
Now I can't even get over this wall! If the Guild still exists after all this,
I'm asking for all my payments back.

If not

(A seraph knight arrives.)
soldier
100,000 gold for the Irinde Chief's head. That's nothing for such a deadly task, but...
With all the chaos happening right now, maybe I can get myself a nice 100,000 gold.
Yeah, it's 100,000 gold. Let's gooooooo!

When the Cannibal is killed

ellerie
That's one major pain in the backside taken care of. Staves back in action!

If the Guildmaster is still alive

guildmaster
My greatest supporter falls. You served the Guild well.

Conversations

Dockmaster

Combat

dockmaster
If I am to fall here, throw my body into the docks.

Combat w/ Ellerie

dockmaster
Ah, Chief Ellerie.
Your bounty on Maurice is still near the top of the board.
ellerie
That's good to hear. I donated a lot of gold.
dockmaster
However, your bounty has surpassed his ten times over.
ellerie
That's also good to hear.
I'm far more valuable than that sack of waste.

Combat w/ Basil

dockmaster
I recognise the hat Basil? That you, lad?
basil
Some do call me by that name.
What do you want?
dockmaster
I loved your in-depth review of the Yalunzar Waterfront.
You really captured the soul of each individual little stall, as well as the environment of each larger establishment.
I could ask for no better guide to my this slice of Yalunzar.
basil
I simply wrote what I saw.
The Yalunzar Waterfront is the finest place on the Crescent.
dockmaster
Is that a tear in your eye, I see?
basil
Of course not. I'm just shocked to hear appreciation for once.
dockmaster
There is one. small matter. By the end of today,
all those places in your guide will cease to exist.
basil
That... That... is not my problem. It's what it is.
dockmaster
Aye. It's not. But sad to see, isn't it?
Your guides will refer to nothing more than ruins.
basil
It is.

Death

dockmaster
Saviour of the city one day, the destroyer the next.
The ever changing waves of the Crescent finally turn...

Oily Oates

Combat

oily oates
Egad! I did not think I would be seeing combat!

Combat w/ Ellerie

ellerie
I didn't understand all the hatred towards the Guild, until I had to deal with you.
Was it worth shortchanging us on a simple few crates of jerky?
oily oates
Shortchange? If you had read the contract more careful-
ellerie
I'm going to enjoy watching you die.
oily oates
Over a few crates of jerky?

Combat w/ Caloogo

caloogo
Nice toy you have there. A model 67 Rat-type mortar.
Wait, why do I even know that?
oily oates
The monsters, they fly! Yalunzar is doomed, doomed!
caloogo
This is an overreaction. I'm just one undead.
oily oates
This is the Crescent's end! The end of days!
caloogo
Now I feel bad about needing to shoot you.

Combat w/ Francisca

oily oates
You're Francisca, the famous mercenary!
How much gold to sway your allegiances? 10000?
20000? I can't do more.
francisca
That's pocket change to me.
oily oates
40000 gold. That's the sum of everything I own.
francisca
I can make that amount in just a week of toiling.
oily oates
45000 gold. Plus all the secret stashes that I know about.
... You were never going to agree to anything, were you?
francisca
Yeah, sorry. I'm just seeing how far I can push for a good story.

Death

oily oates
I desired a mercantile career to escape the wars of my home.
Was it my own actions that brought about this ironic end, or was it simply cruel fate?

The Cannibal

Combat

the cannibal
Hm.

Combat w/ Foxberry

foxberry
Could I get a few words from one of the Guild's leaders?
What are your thoughts on losing everything you have?
the cannibal
...
foxberry
Noting this down. Stayed silent, oblivious to his imminent doom...
the cannibal
Wretch.

Combat w/ Xeo

the cannibal
You played good music.
xeo
I recognise you.
You slipped me a few coins while I was passed out drunk.
the cannibal
When you sought our city's protection. Now you are its foe.
xeo
This is not what I wanted.
the cannibal
But you are here.

Death

the cannical
I see.
Unfortunate.

Speedwell

Combat

speedwell
To have witnessed the rise and fall of our great house...

Combat w/ Aigo

speedwell
Prince Javan. An honour.
aigo
Prince Javan has been dead for decades.
speedwell
I'm no good at remembering faces, but fighting styles?
I was the youth you unseated in that last tournament, before every prince of the kingdom went to war.
aigo
What an incredible memory you possess, unknown knight.
I remember you as a youth of incredible skill for your age.
speedwell
The age of knights died with your death, Prince Javan.
No more do these pretenders abide by the code of chivalry, replacing ideals with gold.
aigo
Are you different from them, Sir knight?
speedwell
I am not. But you were.
The golden knight, the shining example.
aigo
This hypothetical golden age of knights never existed.
Knights were always glorifed thugs for the noble lineages.
My appearance, my reputation, merely the vanity of youth.
speedwell
Perhaps I too fall victim a common flaw of one aged, to always believe the past to be brighter than what it is.
aigo
It's time to set your eyes on the future, Sir knight.
The future of who will prevail in our rematch.
speedwell
Yes, indeed. I look forward to it.

Combat w/ Ellerie

speedwell
To think my worst student could transform into a warlord.
ellerie
A situation can really change a woman.
speedwell
You had no affinity for battle, nor did you care to learn.
ellerie
War was supposed to be the affairs of the unclean, while I administrate far more civil concerns.
As an exile, I could only get my own hands dirty.
speedwell
I had scathingly written you off as having no talent, and refused to teach you.
I owe you an apology.
ellerie
It is accepted, Master.
I don't think I cared to learn anything from you anyways.
speedwell
Then demonstrate to me all that you've learned.
I would like to see how wrong I was.

Defeat

speedwell
Has peace so dulled my skill?
Or is this the onset of the many curses of old age?

Yarding

Combat

yarding
...

Combat w/ Ellerie

ellerie
Sir Yarding. You look the same.
Still a puppet with no capacity for any individual thought?
yarding
...
ellerie
Right. Not sure what else I expected.
yarding
...

Death

yarding
I can serve our house no more.

Guildmaster

Combat

guildmaster
Many adventurers died to bring me this cannon.
I shall make good use of it.

Combat w/ Ellerie

guildmaster
I knew you were an ambitious one, that you'd be a threat.
I did not expect you to tear down our walls in only months.
ellerie
Thank you. I couldn't have done it without the Guild's help, having burned all of Yalunzar's relations with other factions.
guildmaster
Even you are not immune to the propaganda against us.
As a newcomer, are you aware of why settlers hate us so?
ellerie
I don't really care for an accurate justification.
Either way, that's the story I'll tell to justify today.
guildmaster
What tragedy, Yalunzar,
to have all your decades-old struggles be forgotten,
instead remembered only as the Crescent's villain.

Combat w/ Oren

guildmaster
Oren, my good man. You turned down all my gifts.
oren
I won't invite accusations of fraternising with the enemy.
guildmaster
That is a shame. It was just a simple reward.
oren
It was foolhardiness that has brought me nothing but misery.
It shouldn't be rewarded.
guildmaster
Refusing to break the treaty showed an honourable quality, so alien to the Crescent.
It was not in your interests, but it deserves to be praised.
oren
I didn't think you of all people would care for such qualities.
guildmaster
No leader can rule through schemes and plots alone.
If you harnessed such virtues to your advantage...
oren
There's no need to put more salt on that wound.
Guildmaster, let's settle things in the way of the Crescent.
guildmaster
Of course. I'd rather you than that red-haired outsider.

Combat w/ Guard

guard
At last, face-to-face with the Crescent's greatest villain!
Do you regret your wrongdoings, with your demise imminent?
guildmaster
I have nothing to say to a thoughtless minion.
guard
Then stay silent forever!

Combat w/ Thyme

guildmaster
Mayor Thyme, I'd be shocked if I did not see you here, given the chance to feast on Yalunzar's carcass.
thyme
You can belittle me as much as you desire. But today, I shall be the only leader left among the Coastal Coalition.
guildmaster
A cockroach could outlive a bird, but it is still a cockroach.
Your only actions have been to hide in Ellerie's shadow.
thyme
I saw good talent to invest in, and it has paid dividends.
I might get Yalunzar myself, given proximity to the Bay.
guildmaster
I'd rather see my city burn than to have you taint it.
thyme
Ellerie seems to have beaten you to that, but I care not for the city.
I'll be sure to pillage every gold stockpile in these ruins.
guildmaster
A promise you cannot keep, for I shall have your head here.

Combat w/ Aigo

guildmaster
I had recalled the spies sent to observe you years ago, assuming that this lost prince was of no threat to us at all.
aigo
My youthful self was foolish to think his disguise absolute.
But what's left before you is no prince. Just an old man.
guildmaster
There is very little that can escape my very large eyes.
Yet you still find your way here as our foe all the same.
Why now, when you never showed any interest before?
aigo
I had no reason to before. I owe a debt to be repaid.
What more can be said?
guildmaster
How odd that the insane royal line produced someone so simple.
aigo
Too simple to believe, and still not quite sane.

Combat w/ Zububai

zububai
This whole continent had been flattened by primal wrath.
To see a city of this size, without relying on past ruins, it's impressive.
A great feat, for you as this city's master.
guildmaster
There were only untamed grasslands when I fast landed.
Yes, I am proud of building Yalunzar to what it is today.
But who are you supposed to be, acting so above of it all?
zububai
Your elder by a good few years, I would say.
guildmaster
Ah, I get it now. You're one of those beings. Very well.
A compliment from you is a compliment with value.
zububai
It may all be lost today, but your city will be remembered.
Who else can claim to have built civilisation from nothing, while at their most vulnerable from Qiulan's toys?
guildmaster
Remembered. Hah, remembered! that's the best I can hope for.
There will be a chapter just for me in the Crescent's history!

Death

guildmaster
Yalunzar! My beautiful city! Why am I cursed with longevity,
To have to see my life's work collapse before my eyes...

Locations

City Gate

narrator
Big loot found!

(The visitor receives an Iron Sword.)

Central Safehouse

old woman
Filthy invaders! You only know to be envious of our wealth instead of working hard!

East Safehouse

man
Those who know only how to take shall never prosper.

Southwest Safehouse

old man
I'm just tired.

South Safehouse

fighter
I don't really care who wins. I just want the wars to end.

Mansion

man
If even the Guildmaster goes down, what hope do we have left?

Ending

ellerie
Their last stronghold falls. The Guild is finished.

To think I came here merely an exile, yet now both House Heron and the Crescent's best lie dead at my feet.
It's not like Rosetta to flee a battle.
Onwards, Seahawks! We've yet to cut off the head of the heron.

nerysa
Lindros, you damned fool!
You promised me you learned from the mistakes of your predecessors.
You were supposed to be true to Oakhall's ideals. To be better.
...
Perhaps I have no one to blame for this but my own foolishness.
So taken was I by the need to show my worth as an Archsage, to return to the days in my laboratory, that I ignored my own reservations.
Oakhall's ideals were always lies. Why did I fall for those lies once more?

Yalunzar Streets

(Rosetta defends a group of civilians from a war golem.)
rosetta
By Elis... Is that the last one? What have you done, Ellerie?
woman
I thought all you nobles were good-for -nothing leeches. How wrong I was!
girl
You're like one of those real heroes, not like those smelly adventurers!
rosetta
There is no need for thanks, madam. Head west, Cherise has cleared that area.
(The civilians flee. Cherise approaches.)
cherise
Are these monsters truly the work of the settlers?
They far outclass even the mightiest monsters I've fought.
rosetta
That took... huff... so much more time than I thought.
It was supposed to be a quick rescue, not... whatever that was.
cherise
We need to put down the insane mages that concocted this mess.
rosetta
I'm in full agreement, but I thought you enjoyed a good fight.
cherise
I don't enjoy fighting a meat tower that will break every bone in my body with one swing.
There's no art in that. At least dragons have the decency to make good trophies.
rosetta
That's an odd priority. Let's return before Sir Speedwell rakes us over the coals.
cherise
Too late, there he is himself. And he does not look well.
You better brace yourself. Good news is not coming.
(Speedwell approaches.)
rosetta
Sir Speedwell! You're wounded! Has Ellerie struck already?
speedwell
She has.
Yalunzar is lost.
cherise
The Guild folded that fast? So much for the strongest faction on the Crescent.
rosetta
But we were only gone for...
Speedwell, where is everyone else? Where is Sir Yarding?
speedwell
Fallen in the line of duty.
rosetta
That... can't be possible.
cherise
That's like coming back from lunch and discovering your house burnt down.
Hmm, poor use of metaphor there.
rosetta
I convinced my father... It was my hubris, my arrogance, that sent all these loyal subjects of House Heron to their deaths!
With my own two hands, I've destroyed the legacy of House Heron!
speedwell
Yalunzar is lost, but House Heron lives.
Take our remaining men guarding the boats and leave the Crescent.
cherise
I suppose now we have enough space on the boats.
rosetta
What a cruel thing to say, Instructor.
How can I escape, when it was I who brought everyone to the Crescent to die?
How can I do something so despicable?
speedwell
Is there any use to dying here, you fool?
If you return alive, perhaps you may one day restore the glory of House Heron.
Now go to the ship, before I beat you over the head and drag you there!
rosetta
... Yes, Sir.
speedwell
Cherise. You owe nothing to House Heron, but I ask you to escort the Young Lady.
I used to think little of you, but you've aided us faithfully and none can rival you in skill.
cherise
First compliment I've gotten from you.
Well, it'd be rather rude of me to say no now, wouldn't it? I'm too committed.
rosetta
Sir Speedwell, aren't you-
speedwell
I am owed some rest considering the gaping hole in my chest.
My trusty steed will ensure I catch up. Now, move!
(Rosetta's squad leaves.)
speedwell
Is it unsophisticated to not reflect on the life I've lived, but to instead think of the luxuries I will never have the chance to experience?
(Speedwell moves to guard the street opposite the one Rosetta fled down. Ellerie arrives and approaches him.)
ellerie
Master Speedwell.
speedwell
Was your hatred of your family, your uncle, so all-encompassing,
that you'd so willingly tear down this dynasty lasting hundreds of years,
send the lives of so many into disarray and throw the realm into chaos?
ellerie
I wouldn't have moved heaven and earth for so little, Master.
I want all of House Heron's lands. Then, the Kingdom.
speedwell
I should have known you were not so short-sighted. It's a shame.
If Lord Daygon had not harboured such bitterness towards your Mother, you and Rosetta would have ensured the prosperity of our house for decades.
ellerie
If Uncle had not been a pathetic creature of envy, then I wouldn't be driven to this.
It's a pointless hypothetical and you're wasting the time I need to catch Rosetta.
speedwell
Know your etiquette. It is right to respect your elders when they speak.
I shall delay you as long as I can.
ellerie
Loyal to the end, Master? For what? For Uncle? For that vile man?
For House Heron's lineage which has had at best, tolerable rulers?
speedwell
Nothing you'd be able to relate to.
(Ellerie kills Speedwell.)
ellerie
The old fox tried to mislead us into thinking Rosetta fled this way.
It's just a shame I've already been told where the last boats are.
(Ellerie leaves.)

If Tasel is alive

Bazaar

(Tasel wanders through the carnage, stopping when he finds Mitchell's body.)
tasel
It is as if a great light has been extinguished. Mitchell, my friend.
There shall be no other who understands me as you did.
If only there was another way I could repay you with the gift you gave me.
krynia
Mother? I didn't expect you'd be back so soon.
oriana
The Green Tides are finally no more. I wanted to return as fast as possible.
krynia
I'm doing fine, Mother. There's no need to worry.
oriana
I left you in a war with the Mainland, Krynia. How could you tell me to not worry?
krynia
I'm as fine as I can be, now that you've ended any chance of me living until old age.
(The world fades away.)
krynia
You always say I'm the most important thing to you, but I guess it's not enough.
Not enough to pick your daughter's future over fulfilling your own sense of justice.
oriana
What are you saying, Krynia? I've always put you first.
krynia
Did you? Then why didn't you listen to her?
oriana
That's because, because, I-
(Oriana wakes up.)
oriana
...
Again.

Character Descriptions

Guildmaster
The ancient head of the Guild whose presence has shaped the Crescent for decades. That will end with me.

The Cannibal
His nickname refers to his business practices, not a taste for human flesh. Or so I've been told.

Oily Oates
A member of the merchant kings known for turning massive profits from the Green Tide, at the cost of the victims.

Dockmaster
The head of the Harbourmen. Doesn't actually know a thing about docks, the title is just an old tradition.

Yarding
House Heron's silent guardian. Often given tasks beneath his position but he carries them out without complaint.

Speedwell
House Heron's finest knight, who has served five different heads of the House. What use is loyalty to a corrupt cause?

Executioner
A knock on the door late at night from them is the greatest fear of all those who live under House Heron's banner.

Hexbreakder
The greatest threat to public order is a rogue magic user. This force ensures they stay in line. The Sect is not fond of them.

Trailblazer
Acting as scouts and law enforcement officers, a few of them ensures words of treason are reported and spies put down.

Linecrusher
When peace needs to come fast, this squad is deployed. A few of them is a match for a whole army of peasants.

House Heron
All kinds of troops bound to serve House Heron as willing fodder to advance the purpose of those of superior bloodlines.

The Circle
A tightly-knit organisation responsible for many of the Crescent's rising stars. Their members seem to follow conflict.

Harbourmen
A decades old organisation dedicated to peacekeeping in Yalunzar. Despite the name, are no longer limited to only men.

The Guild
Various merchants and artisans that make up the bulk of the Guild. Say what you will, their skill is undeniable.

Militia
Faceless fodder who will be the first to die when any kind of true threat arises.

War Golem
Artifical beings built for the war effort, great as replaceable cannon fodder but aren't very good at following orders.
